FOUR STORIES
The Daryl Smith Band is now Four Stories! Dana, Kyle, Kaisara, and I are still making music and leading worship, and I couldn't be happier about the name change. I was never fond of naming a band after myself and it wasn't even accurate because it belongs to all of us. Keep an eye on the Shows page for updates about Four Stories, and visit www.FourStoriesBand.com to listen and download our three new acoustic recordings for free.

THANKS!!
Major thanks to everybody who came out for the benefit show. It was a complete success and a fantastic night. We loved playing in such an intimate setting, and I hope you all enjoyed your chance to hear the band members showing off their solo skills. We'll try and do that again very soon. I want to extend my undying gratitude to my band and all my friends who put this event together. I am truly blessed. Look below for some photos from the show...

Hard Rock Success!!
The Hard Rock Cafe show was a big hit! Thanks to everyone who came out. The place was completely packed and you were an amazing audience. The band will be taking February off from shows in order to wrap up recording on my new album, due out this Spring. We'll be doing several acoustic shows at Diedrich Coffeehouses, though, so check out the shows page to find out when and where.
The band will be back in March when we return to the Hard Rock stage with Vanya Van Essen (who played an incredible set last week) joining us once again. That show will be on Friday, March 19th, again at Fashion Island.
In case some of you missed the Hard Rock Cafe show last week, check out the images below to catch a glimpse...

Happy Holidays
I hope you're all enjoying the holidays this year. You may have noticed that MP3.com has closed it's doors, thus taking all of my music samples down with it. So now we're working on getting new MP3's for you here, directly on the site. They should be up in a week or two, and I'll include what will be the last two sneak previews from my new album.
In other news, the band is currently rehearsing and working out new material for several more shows in early 2004, so stay tuned for more on that. In the meantime, I'll be playing several acoustic shows at Diedrich Coffeehouses throughout December. Check out the shows page for more info on those, and come hang out if you can. Kaisara usually performs with me, and Chris and Kyle have been known to stop by as well. Last week all four of us crammed into the Lake Forest location for an impromptu set and it was a great time. You never know what you'll hear at those shows, which is why we have some much fun with them.

HUGE SHOW!!!
The band and I have been invited to play at BB King's Blues Club at the Universal City Walk in Hollywood. This is a huge show for us at probably the coolest venue I've ever played, so we want all of you to be there with us. The show will be on Thursday, November 6th @ 9:00pm sharp. Following us at 10:00pm will be the evening's headliners, Taming Ingrid.
$10 Advance Tickets are available for purchase at all Diedrich Coffeehouse shows, via mail or directly from any one of us in the band(Chris Jagich, Kaisara Esera, Kyle Mack, Dana Stenson or myself).
If your worried about this show being worth your $10, worry no more. This will be the biggest, best show we've done yet with phenomenal sound and a great atmosphere. Plus, we'll be introducing electric guitar into our set, and welcoming the talented Dana Stenson to join us on vocals for the first time. And, as if that wasn't enough, we'll even be holding a Special Drawing for everyone who buys a ticket, so you can win some very cool prizes. So, come out and join us! Visit the shows page for directions and more information.

Trick or Treat or The DS Band
First of all, huge thanks to those who came out for the debut of The Daryl Smith Band last night at Fierro's. We had a killer time and can't wait to play together again, and it looks like we won't have to wait long. Halloween is coming up, which if you're like me, doesn't mean anything. We're too old to trick-or-treat, but still young enough to want some sort of festivities. Well, Chris, Kaisara, Kyle and I have solved that problem for you. We'll be playing a special show at Diedrich Coffeehouse at The Irvine Spectrum on Halloween Night! It'll be slightly more stripped down than the set at Fierro's but we'll playing several more songs. Three sets! So now you have something fun to do on Halloween. Come hang out with us.
Speaking of Diedrich Coffeehouses, if you don't already know, Kaisara and I play acoustic sets at several of them throughout Orange County on a regular basis. They have been very cool and always treat us very well, so we love playing these shows. Here's a look at where we'll be working our Diedrich magic in the next couple months. Visit the shows page for times and location information.
Upcoming Diedrich Coffeehouse Performances...
Sat 9/27 - Irvine Crossroads
Fri 10/3 - Irvine Crossroads
Sat 10/4 - Laguna Beach
Fri 10/31 - Irvine Spectrum - Halloween Night w/ The Daryl Smith Band

Once More With The Band
I couldn't be more excited for this show! I'll be returning to the Fierro's stage for Mike Barnet's weekly Religion For Robots concert series in Downtown Fullerton on Tuesday, September 16th. Last time I played there I was joined on stage by my good friends percussionist Kaisara Esera, and vocalist Dana Stenson. This time they'll both be back, but we're throwing Kaisara behind a full drum kit, and inviting guitarist Chris Jagich and bassist Kyle Mack as well. That's right, folks....we're going full band! We've been rehearsing this past week, and I can say without a doubt that you've never heard my music like this before. These guys take it to a whole new level!
So, come out and join us! Mike Barnet will be performing with his band, PORO, as well, and if you've never heard those guys, you're missing something amazing. It all starts at 8pm sharp on Tuesday, September 16th. Check the shows page for more information. Hope to see you there!

Soapbox Music News
The Soapbox Music Revue returns this Saturday night (7/19) at The Streetlite Espresso Cafe in Huntington Beach. Chris and I are proud to welcome special guest singer/songwriters Pat Riley and Kaisara Esera (who will also be sitting with us on percussion). Check the shows page for more info on the show.
In other Soapbox news, my good friend Christopher Sandoval has begun work on his solo debut recording, "Sitting Music". If you're like me, you've been waiting for this one. The album will showcase Chris' great guitar talent and his brilliant songwriting in it's natural acoustic format. I don't think I'd be where I am today if not for the inspiration and friendship I've found in Chris over the years, so I can't wait for "Sitting Music".

New Albums News!!
Albums? Plural? That's right. I have two albums on the way.
My new full band album is now entering the home stretch of recording. Once it moves into the mixing process, I'll be starting work on the follow up to The Gracie Sessions; a second acoustic ep featuring a whole new set of songs. I hope to release the full band album in the winter with the new acoustic ep following a month or two later. Neither album is officially titled yet, but check out the music page for the track listing of the full band album. For more frequent and in depth updates, stay tuned to The Daryl Smith Music Forum. You can also listen to sneak previews of "November" and "Count By Nines" off the full band album now at mp3.com.
